Since our ChemiGuard pressurised tanker offload cabinets were first introduced to the UK market their installation base has steadily increased. Nearly all of the feedback we get from users is very positive – mainly that the cabinets have increased the safety during tanker offloading – just as planned!

We had already entered into discussions with a long standing customer of Chem Resist – Brenntag UK Ltd regarding supply of ChemiGuard units to their sites and the decision was made to install two ChemiGuard units at their Bristol depot for evaluation. Feedback from the Brenntag delivery drivers was collected and although mostly positive one thing kept being mentioned – that access to the tanker connection point could sometimes be challenging for the tanker driver.

Taking this on board Chem Resist designed a new prototype ChemiGuard unit which was submitted to Brenntag for approval. This new design was manufactured from sheet materials and installed at their Bristol depot to gain further feedback from delivery drivers.

It was agreed that the new prototype did exactly what was required – easier access whilst maintaining all the other important safety features.

Chem Resist then engaged with XM Tech, a well renowned Italian mould manufacturer.

CAD mould designs were drawn up and after several modifications were addressed they were subsequently approved.

On completion of the mould manufacture Chem Resist visited the XM Tech factory which is located 1 hour west of Milan to witness the first manufacture of the new ChemiGuard Pressurised Offload cabinets.

This was a significant investment by Chem Resist to commission the design and manufacture of the new moulds but seen as essential to address the challenges raised by both Brenntag UK Ltd and the market place as a whole.

The new cabinet improves access via the door design which has an increased area; when the door is opened to connect to the offload point access has increased significantly.

The new design (which is now our standard design) is available from our UK factory for immediate despatch.
