Why using OEM parts is important
Using non-genuine spare parts manufactured by a third party can have significant consequences for the performance and operational life of any pump. We understand lower cost parts can give a short-term solution, particularly when budgets are tight but they can impact the safety of the application, warranties and performance ratings.
Non-OEM parts use different materials and dimensions than those produced by the original manufacturer. These differences may not be visible to the naked eye, but will affect the pumps performance through changing the quality of movement, precision geometry and seal integrity.
Some applications demand specific material compatibility, particularly those involving corrosive and aggressive chemicals. Material compatibility and optimum performance advice will be based on the materials used by the original manufacturer, if spare parts are from a different manufacturer, then compatibility will be compromised. Likewise, any warranties, CE and ATEX ratings will no longer be valid.
