January 2020 Site Investment

We have lift off!

We’ve had a busy start to 2020, January has already seen the installation, commissioning and operator training for a new overhead crane system in the Spiral Winding production facility at our Dewsbury site.

The investment of over £100k, has been driven by our commitment to continuous site improvements and maintaining high health and safety standards and is further fuelled by customer demand for increasingly large tanks.

Not a typical storage solution!

Read how Chem Resist’s market-leading experience in thermoplastics enabled the company to assist a member of the Great Britain windsurfing team with transport and storage for her windsurfing equipment.

Local girl, Jennie Roberts began windsurfing during summer holidays as a child at holiday camps and family holidays abroad. By 2013 she’d mastered the basics and joined the local RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and the RYA 15 initiative aimed at introducing young people to windsurfing.

New Priority Service now available

New Fluid Transfer Priority Service offers 90 minute order turn-round

Launched on 1st October, a new Priority Service has been created to meet customer demand for replacement and new pumps in extremely urgent timeframes. The new service includes; order processing, pump assembly and full testing with the pump ready for despatch or courier collection all within just 90 minutes.

Tanks Return to Dewsbury

Out with the old and in with the new!

Chem Resist pride themselves on developing and maintaining excellent relationships with their customers, which is made easier with such high-quality products.

Two Polypropylene Process Tanks (21.50m3 & 26.00m3) have recently been replaced, which have been in service in high temperature, acidic and alkaline conditions for 10 years and brought back to our works for inspection. Apart from some slight changes in appearance due to such a time in a busy plant, critical regions remain unchanged.

Almatec C-Series Update

ALMATEC C-Series line extension

Almatec has extended the line of solid plastic C-Series Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) Pumps to include new C 40 (1-1/2”) and C 50 (2”) models. The C-Series pump line now consists of five pump sizes – C 10 (3/8”), C 15 (1/2”), C 25 (1”), C 40 (1-1/2”) and C 50 (2”) – and is available with flow rates from 22 l/min to 533 l/min. All sizes are available ATEX rated if required.

Chemical Engineer students join the team

Chem Resist has recently taken work placements for two University under graduates, Tom Carroll and Rebecca Townend

Tom is studying Chemical Engineering at Newcastle University and has just finished his 3rd year; this is the second time that Tom has spent a work placement with Chem Resist. Rebecca is studying Chemical Engineering with Energy Engineering at Heriot – Watt University in Edinburgh and Rebecca has also just finished her 3rd year.

Since our ChemiGuard pressurised tanker offload cabinets were first introduced to the UK market their installation base has steadily increased.
