Investment continues with Recycling System for Hydrostatic Test water

Thermoplastic Storage Tanks

Last month a further £70k was invested in ongoing site improvements, in the form of a recycling system for water used in Hydrostatic testing our Thermoplastic Storage Tanks.

As we continue to manufacture ever-larger capacity tanks, driven by our customers maximising their site space and streamlining processes, we continually improve our own capabilities for production, handling, storage and also testing.

A Christeyns UK Case Study

Christeyns UK is part of the Christeyns group, based in Ghent, Belgium. Its principal focus is the manufacture and supply of detergents, supporting hygiene chemicals and equipment for the commercial laundry sector and the food, beverage and dairy industries across the UK, with an additional focus on manufacturing chemicals for the construction sector.

Chem Resist began a major project with Christeyns UK at their manufacturing site in Bradford during summer 2019 to provide 5 new thermoplastic storage tanks; 4 to replace existing aged chemical storage tanks and 1 additional 100,000 litre water storage tank to increase water availability on site.

An Interview with Joe Rhodes

Joe Rhodes 200pix

To celebrate National Apprentice Week 2020, we get to know Joe Rhodes who began his career at Chem Resist as a Fabrication Apprentice back in 2004. Joe is one of our longest-serving apprentices and is currently a Design Engineer.

What did you do prior to joining Chem Resist?

I began my apprenticeship back in September 2004, before that I was at school and working part-time at weekends for ASDA, in the Dewsbury store. For 8 months, I worked at Chem Resist and kept my weekend job, but it became too much and I handed my notice in at ASDA.

We have lift off!

Spiral Crane medium

We’ve had a busy start to 2020, January has already seen the installation, commissioning and operator training for a new overhead crane system in the Spiral Winding production facility at our Dewsbury site.

The investment of over £100k, has been driven by our commitment to continuous site improvements and maintaining high health and safety standards and is further fuelled by customer demand for increasingly large tanks.

Polypropylene Process Tanks

Chem Resist pride themselves on developing and maintaining excellent relationships with their customers, which is made easier with such high-quality products.

Two Polypropylene Process Tanks (21.50m3 & 26.00m3) have recently been replaced, which have been in service in high temperature, acidic and alkaline conditions for 10 years and brought back to our works for inspection. Apart from some slight changes in appearance due to such a time in a busy plant, critical regions remain unchanged.
