ATEX Approved Diaphragm Pumps

Why would I need an ATEX approved Diaphragm pump ?

In the past, explosion-protection concerned only electrical equipment with plenty of technical regulations and standards for inspection and certification. Such guiding rules were not present for non-electrical equipment leading to confusion.

Effective from 1st July 2003 the directive 94/9/EG (ATEX 100 A) encompasses non-electrical equipment. All equipment has to meet these requirements in the whole EU-market. Non-electrical devices - and that means pneumatic diaphragm pumps too - are classified in group II, category 2 of the ATEX directive.

The conductive design of the ALMATEC pneumatic diaphragm pumps made of PE and PTFE means that the ignition hazards caused by electrostatic charges are eliminated.

The conductive plastics used in the Alamtec ATEX apporved diaphragm pumps also meet the requirements of the FDA and are suitable for pharmaceutical and food applications
