All Thermoplastic Acid Dilution System

To eliminate the problems of corrosion, thermal shock and operator error, Chem Resist have developed and all thermoplastic, corrosion and thermal shock resistant fully automated acid dilution system.

Sulphuric Acid has a great affinity for water and so the dilution process has a high exothermic heat of dilution releasing large quantities of heat energy. Due to this boiling of the resultant mixture can occur quite easily if the process is not carefully controlled.

Plant conventionally used to produce Dilute Sulphuric Acid from concentrated feedstock traditionally uses a direct mixing design with resin filled graphite, PTFE or glass for contact surfaces in the mixing and cooling areas.

These direct mixing designs suffer from severe thermal shock and thermal cycling associated with these relatively fragile and expensive materials. The results of these stresses are high maintenance costs and significant plant downtime.

Chem Resist’s system uses all thermoplastic materials for the dilution vessel, mixing system and recirculation system. The computerised control system with process display enables totally safe operation of the system and can be configured to output from individual recipes entered by the operator.

Overview of the System

The system consists of:
• Acid Feed Section
• Deionised Water Feed Section
• Static Mixing and Cooling Section
• Cooled Acid Pumping Section

Chem Resist have acid dilution systems in operation in the UK, Czech Republic, Poland and Egypt.
