Nautical but nice at Chem Resist!

Though Chem Resist is based in Dewsbury – which is at least 70 miles from the ocean waves in any direction – the company’s Fluid Transfer division has answered yet another mayday call from a luxury yacht in distress…

The division is an established UK stockholder and distributor for many of the world’s leading pump manufacturers and recently helped out the chief engineer of a motor yacht owned by one of the world’s richest businessmen.

About to set sail on a chartered corporate entertainment cruise, it was discovered that two replacement and more efficient pumps were required to fill and empty the onboard swimming pool. Could the experts at Chem Resist urgently help was the request…

Of course, responded divisional manager Neil Williams – and within hours the deal was done and the pumps on their way to Marseille where the yacht was berthed.

“No sooner had we received a thank-you note from the captain than another call for urgent assistance was received from the high seas.” said Neil.

This time the call came from the MY Talitha – a classic motor yacht sailing on past her 78th birthday and meticulously rebuilt in 1994. Two de-gassing valves were wanted by the second engineer on board to automatically vent any gases within a system, and within just 4 days of receiving the request the valves were with the vessel :-

“Talitha is described as having the charm, style and polish of a top London hotel and the boat regularly cruises the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Baltic seas; she’s even been on station at Cowes for the Royal Family so we are particularly proud to have been of help,” Neil concluded.
