If you were choosing a material to manufacture a heat exchanger thermoplastics with their excellent insulation characteristics may not be your first choice.

However the broad corrosion resistance of these thermoplastic materials makes them an ideal choice for handling corrosive solutions so customers asked us if a way could be found to heat or cool solutions, such as Sulphuric Acid or Caustic Soda, in thermoplastics.

In response to this over 10 years ago,,Chem Resist developed a range of thermoplastic shell and tube heat exchangers available in Polypropylene, HDPE or PVDF.

These multi-pass exchangers with extractable tube bundles offer excellent corrosion resistance properties for use in the heating or cooling of chemically aggressive liquids.

The use of thermoplastic materials results in a non-brittle exchanger with good resistance to thermal shock especially when compared to carbon block and glass alternatives.
